I'm tired

I have worked in education for a long time. It will be 10 years in 2008. I have always worked in so-called "Urban" settings. Meaning I have given of myself to work where I feel I am needed most, (as are you and you and yes, you too). Among my own. I have yet to work a year in this school district without having gone to the funeral of one of my students. Not ONE year has gone by without me dealing with the loss of one of my kids. Jedi and I just discussed the fact that we have lost so many, (he used to work here too.) I have attended at least one funeral a year for students or former students since 1998.
Weekend total:3
I'm tired of watching them die so young for NOTHING.
Shot in the chest by another 16 year old with the same brown skin, for NOTHING.
All of this while my city is on a "Zero Tolerance" lockdown, (we already have the youth-curfew). The "Zero Tolerance" lockdown has been in effect due to this tragedy that just absolutely tears at my soul:
NO ARREST MADE YET
Rest in Peace Chris Jones,
Ms. Hunter is keeping you, your family and friends in my thoughts and prayers.
There's nothing more about this that I feel like saying, honestly.
